Blue Wolf was invited to precommission a new combined cycle plant for progress energy. Scope included Nooter Eriksen HRSG’s and Westinghouse CT’s and STG. The Blue Wolf team performed citric acid CC, hydrolazing of all steam piping, Airblows on Block 2, and continuous Steamblows on Block 3.
Blue Wolf was contracted by Bechtel to engineer and execute the hydrostatic testing and chemical cleaning on multiple Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) at the Cricket Valley Energy Center in Dover Plains, New York.
Blue Wolf’s Team was contracted by McDermott as a single source vendor to engineer and execute degreasing, gas line air blows, hydrolazing, steam blows, pigging and High Velocity Oil Flushing (HVOF) for the Montgomery Energy Center’s new 2 X 1 combined cycle plant.
Blue Wolf was contracted as a partner to Dresser Rand (a Siemens Company) to perform oil flushing services on a Turbodyne Steam Turbine.
The unit was located at a Kinder Morgan Power Generation Plant in West Texas. During the flushing activities BW’s project manager identified plugging issues and leaky seals on the system coolers. The Blue Wolf team worked with DR to remove the coolers and transport to BW’s facility in Pearland Texas. Blue Wolf Performance Group removed the bundles, chemically cleaned the tubes, hydrolazed the shells, replaced all the gaskets, flushed the oil side, pressure tested the bundles and transported back to the facility without the site experiencing any delays in their turnaround.
Blue Wolf has teamed up with the Solar Aftermarket Team to identify and mitigate varnish deposits from turbines across the United States. BW has effectively mitigated varnish from power plants within colleges, municipal power facilities, gas plants and manufacturing facilities.
